Playlists

Within the Playlist view, we will have access to Playlists and News.

Playlists

Playlists are the set of images and videos that will be played on the screens inside the Buses or Street PID's.

Once inside the Playlist tab, you’ll see that, by default, the Active playlists for the current day are displayed. To view playlists that will be active on another day, select the date using the calendar yyyy-mm-dd in the top filter bar.

If you also want to view the rest of the playlists that have been created but are not active, open the Filters dropdown and select the Inactive option, which is disabled by default.

In the filters section, you’ll also find options to filter by Bus and Totem.

Create Playlists

We can create Playlists by following the steps below:

• Inside the Playlist tab, click New Playlist .
• Assign a name and, if desired, a description. We also need to specify which type it belongs to.
• To select a media file, first click on Add Media Files to Display . A new section will appear with already uploaded media files, and where we can also upload new files by clicking the Upload File button.
• If we want to delete or edit an already uploaded file, click on that file, and the icons to edit or delete will appear. We can also preview the file by clicking the eye next to it.
• To finally add this media file to our playlist, click on the button.

Once added, we will see the media file in the playlist listing. In this listing, we will define the priority and the duration (if it’s an image) of the media file.

To remove it from the playlist, click on .

To change the playback order, we can drag and drop it to the desired position.

Define Where and When a Playlist is Displayed

We must define the playback timing of a Playlist through two parameters:

• By Hours. By default, a playlist is set to be displayed for 24 hours. We can configure this interval for the range we need.
  • If we need to define different time ranges for the same day, we can do so by adding intervals, clicking on Add Interval .
  • We can delete intervals by clicking the icon at the top right of each interval.
• By Days. To make the media file display, we need to add a calendar in the Playback Calendar section. We can use previously created calendars or create a new one directly from this screen (calendars created here will only serve for the Playlists).
  • By clicking Add Calendar , we will access a window where all the Calendars belonging to the Agency will be listed. Here we can view them and/or add them .
  • We can also create a New Calendar by clicking the New Calendar button. A new window will open where we can generate a new Calendar just like the others. Finally, we will define by Agency, Line, Route, or Stop where the Playlist will be displayed. Click on Save Playlist to create it.

News

News are the texts that can be displayed at the bottom of a screen.

Create News

We can create News by following the steps below:

• Inside the News tab, click the Create News button.
• Assign a code for the News.
• Activate the Active News field if we want the news to automatically activate (and be shown on the bus screens) after creating it.
• Set a start date and an end date.
• Write the text you want to display on the screens.
• Select the Agency where we want the News to be displayed.
• If we also select a Line, it will only show on that Line. The same applies to Stops.
• Click on the Save News button to add it to the news list.
