Programming
In the Programming view, we can assign bus and driver to Shifts previously created in Calendars (see Create Calendar Shifts).
The calendar displayed on the page indicates scheduled Shifts with a blue background , or with a white background if there are shifts missing a bus and/or driver . The act of assigning buses and drivers to a shift is called Programming.
Programming Buses and Drivers
We can schedule buses and drivers by following these steps:
- Select the desired day on the calendar .
- A list of that day's Shifts will appear at the bottom. If the list is not visible, it may be necessary to scroll down or there may be no shifts created for that day (to create shifts, go to Create Calendar Shifts in the Calendars section).
- Select Bus and Driver.
- If it's just for that day, save by clicking the button in the bottom-right corner.
Copying Schedule
We can replicate the Schedule of an already scheduled Shift for additional days. Note that this will only apply to the calendar days of the shift. For example, if the Calendar where the Shift was created only applies on Sundays, the bus and driver will only apply on Sundays, regardless of the date range.
Follow these steps to do this:
- Select the schedule you want to copy by clicking (by default, all are selected).
- At the bottom, next to the button, there's an option to select a date range (e.g., a week, a month, or a year). Enter the start and end dates and save.
Viewing Scheduled or Unsheduled Shifts
To view Shifts that are already scheduled or those that need scheduling, follow these steps:
- Select the day for which you want to view the Shifts.
- Below the Legend, two buttons will appear: one to show scheduled Shifts and another to show Shifts that need scheduling.
- If the button is blue, it means it is active, and if it is white, the button is deactivated.
Trip Exceptions
Trip Exceptions are useful when a Shift is affected and, for some reason, needs to perform different trips than those originally scheduled.
To program Trip Exceptions, follow these steps:
- Select a Shift, and the three-dot icon will appear on the right side. Click this icon to access the Trip Exceptions window.
- In this window, a list of the Trips will appear, showing which are active or inactive .
- Active trips can be removed from the Shift and will be displayed as an inactive exception .
- To add an inactive trip, select it, and it will become an active exception .
- For Active Trips, you can also modify the Departure Time in the Extra Seconds field.
Programming via CSV
When selecting the day to schedule, a button is available to upload a file containing Schedule data.
Next to the button is an information icon . Clicking it provides instructions on the correct format and the option to download a template.
